Ceppo di Gré, sourced from the Marini Marmi quarry in Lake Iseo, Italy, is a grey-blue ornamental stone with a pebble-like appearance. The name ‘ceppo’ itself means ‘rock with pebbles.’ Initially quarried in the 19th century, Ceppo di Gré was traditionally affordable and primarily used for local house construction. It forms naturally from various fragmented stones.
